Last night, the Dallas Mavericks lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder, ending their winning streak at four.
Dallas has improved defensively recently and has been able to take care of business after losing three straight games. This was some of the worst defense Dallas has played all season, but now they're starting to get back on track despite last night's blowout loss.
Dallas' offense has given fans reason to believe they can play with anyone, and the dominance of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving as a duo is hard to overlook.
Regardless of how far the Mavs advance in the playoffs, big changes could happen this summer. Nico Harrison is always looking for ways to improve the roster around Luka, and the trade market is one way he can do that.
The Mavs have made six trades over the past three summers and will undoubtedly want to be better this summer.
Here are six Dallas Mavericks players who could be traded this summer.
Despite being a fan favorite and a dynamic scorer, Dallas Mavericks guard Jaden Hardy is a player who could be traded this summer.
Hardy had his best basketball performance about a month ago, but has yet to join Jason Kidd in the rotation these days (until Thursday night's game against Oklahoma City). This season in Dallas, Hardy is averaging 7.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.3 steals per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from downtown.
Hardy is one of the best off-the-catch shooters on the team, but if Kidd won't play him, why should the team keep him? He is set to become a restricted free agent next summer and has the skills to be the team's sixth man.
Hardy is probably the most appealing to a team that is rebuilding, but his shooting and scoring could pique their interest. I could see him blossoming into a Sixth Man of the Year candidate one day, but if he wants to do that in Dallas, Kidd will have to give him a chance.
If not, you can do it elsewhere.
