North Jersey has made great strides in hiring its newest real estate agent. Greg Senat, a six-year NFL player and Super Bowl champion, has joined Corcoran Infinity Properties in Bergen County.
“Greg’s impressive combination of athletic and academic ability makes him a great addition to our brokerage,” said David Arabia, broker and owner of Corcoran Infinity Properties. “His discipline and perseverance are sure to be helpful in completing difficult transactions. Also, his time management skills and team-building mentality ensure reliable broker-client relationships and overall camaraderie.” It will help you build.”
During his time in the NFL, Senato played as an offensive tackle for multiple teams including the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, and Kansas City Chiefs, who were Super Bowl champions in the 2019 season. . And in the 2021-2022 season, Senat will finish his NFL career here in New Jersey with the New York Jets.
Senat will stay in New Jersey and focus on real estate in what is currently one of the most competitive and dynamic markets in the U.S. As part of top producer Roy Clipper’s Clipper Group, he will specialize in luxury real estate in Bergen County.
“I think for a lot of professional athletes in general, not just NFL players, when the game inevitably ends, you don’t necessarily really have a plan. There’s a lot of ‘accept it,”’ Senat said. “One minute you’re playing in front of thousands of people and the next minute it’s over. Now, it’s like you have to start all over again.”
Throughout his NFL career, Senato said he has tried to experience different industries to prepare himself for the day football is over. Between shadowing the CEO of Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, enrolling in Harvard University’s Crossover Into Business MBA program, and attending the Professional Athlete Community Business Combine in Florida, he learned that his skills and passions He said he prioritized learning what it was. And even before the NFL, Senato attended Wagner College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in medical anthropology.
But Senat said it wasn’t until he heard about the world of real estate from fellow agent Roy Clipper that he knew this was his next career path.
“I’ve always loved real estate. I picked the brain of my long-time friend, Roy Clipper, who is a very successful real estate agent here. What is it like to be a real estate agent? The life of a real estate agent. “I just wanted to know what it’s like to be successful. What do they do and how do they succeed?” “So I settled into real estate. I started getting my license last year and completed it at the beginning of this year.”
Senat, a Long Island native who has lived in northern New Jersey for almost three years since signing with the New York Jets, said Bergen County was a natural choice for him to pursue a real estate career.
“I think New Jersey is very underrated, and Bergen County is very underrated,” he said. “It’s a booming area. It’s very close to the city. There are a lot of successful, young, wealthy people here. I think it’s just a great environment to grow your business and make connections. And the people you meet here, it’s just a great environment. They’re from everywhere, they’re doing everything.”
Senato also credits his time in the NFL with helping him develop skills that can be applied to the industry, even though it wasn’t directly related to real estate. Discipline, time management and the ability to work with people from all walks of life are all qualities that will make him successful in North Jersey real estate, he said.
Since officially obtaining his real estate license and joining Corcoran Infinity Properties, he has learned how much work it takes to buy and sell homes. He says it involves a lot more than just showing customers around properties and collecting fees, he says, including contracts, depreciation, making offers, negotiations, inspections, and more.
Senat is currently working with clients under Clipper’s guidance while expanding his own client network in Bergen County. And while he said he’s currently doing his due diligence to learn every ins and out of the industry, he’s most looking forward to being an asset to other professional athletes in the area one day. said.
“New Jersey and New York State have a lot of teams around here and a lot of athletes in the Northern New Jersey area. I’ve been in the same position as them,” he said. “So if I can be an asset to them in the sports world or in the entertainment world, that’s a blessing. If I can grow and build with them, that’s the best thing for me.”
