Dr. Alexis McKittrick has been a lifetime member of the Society of Women Engineers for over 20 years and has served as a volunteer leader for the Society for over 15 years, serving in roles across all aspects of the organization.
Prior to his election as president, Dr. McKittrick served as president-elect and served two terms on the SWE Board of Directors, including serving as secretary and as president of the Senate.
Highlights of her other SWE leadership roles include chairing two committees. She serves on two governance task forces. And she serves as governor of the Mid-Atlantic region.
Dr. McKittrick currently serves as a program manager for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Geothermal Technology. She serves on her SWE Board of Directors in her personal capacity.
Prior to joining DOE, Dr. McKittrick was a senior fellow at the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute in Washington, DC, where he conducted bipartisan research and analysis for the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and various federal agencies. Ta.
She also worked in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Change Division, focusing on greenhouse gas analysis and policy for the oil and gas, chemical, and semiconductor sectors.
Dr. McKittrick holds a Ph.D. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech and a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he was a Meyerhoff Scholar.
In 2014, he received the DC Engineering and Architecture Society Council's Young Engineer of the Year Award and in 2019, he received SWE's Emerging Leader Award.
