His arrival prompted the development of an urban department created to pursue urban redevelopment for mixed-use projects in city centers. The main focus of Jack's energy is on the adaptive reuse and redevelopment of urban centres. He is active in redeveloping downtown Dallas. In 2016, Jack received the Stemmons Service Award, the highest award and honor given in the commercial real estate industry in Dallas by the Texas Association of Commercial Realtors (NTCAR). Prior to CBRE | UCR Jack began his real estate career in specialty retail leasing and commercial sales in 1972 with real estate legend Henry S. Miller his junior. There he worked on the Turtle Creek Village and Old Town Village rentals, prototypes for more dense urban centers. Mockingbird Station, West Village, etc. He was an assistant to Henry S. Miller Jr. in the 1975 acquisition of Highland Park Village. Gosnell founded his own business in 1978 and then began his move to urban centers. Grille, Dallas Chop House, Ocean Prime, Dee Lincoln's Tasting Room, Four Colonials, Stephen Pyles' Stampede 66, FT 33, Ascension Coffee, Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse, Katy Trail -Ice House, The Rustic, Mutz Cantina, Mesero, Moxy, Shelby County Cafe, Oak, Mudin, Adelmo's, Shake Shack to name a few. Gosnell brought Forest City to Dallas, redeveloping the prominent Mercantile Bank Building, the Continental Building, and the historic Wilson Building into a downtown mixed-use development. CBRE | UCR Urban leases the retail portion and is actively working on the retail revival of the downtown central business district (CBD). He chairs Downtown Dallas Inc.'s (DDI) Retail Hiring Committee and is working on the Downtown Dallas Specialty Retail District leasing plan. Mr. Gosnell's current projects include the privatization of 1401 Elm downtown, his McKinney & Olive, The Union and The Farmers Market uptown. 1401 Elm is the landmark Skidmore Tower with his 120,000 square foot store, which is expected to be redeveloped and completed in late 2016. McKinney & Olive is located in his new Cesar Peri Tower with 60,000 square feet of upscale retail and restaurant space in the heart of Uptown Dallas. Union features his 100,000 square feet of retail, office and residential towers. The Farmers Market is part of a $90 million redevelopment of a Dallas landmark. A native of Arlington, Virginia, Jack received his Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University. He served in the Army and retired from the Army with a commendation as a Captain in the Corps of Engineers.
