The media giant's statistics were driven primarily by Dale Jr.'s popularity. He was named NASCAR's Most Popular Driver 15 times. However, his temperament was not initially suited to show business.
“Dale Jr. was never an extroverted person, especially when he was driving. He was very popular and had many fans. But being able to have long conversations meant that It’s totally different from the way Dale Jr. was wired.” Dale's victory at Daytona in 2014 helped him come out of his shell and gave him the confidence to share his racing knowledge with the world.
Door Bumper Clear covers anyone away from the spotlight, including spotters. Host Casey Boat shared some insights. “They don't come to us for concrete facts, right? They come to us… for an opinion… in the garage because the fans can't see it every weekend. Maybe you want to hear the inside scoop on what's going on…sometimes that gets us into trouble.”

Last July, Dale Jr. introduced a new podcast series. “Becoming Earnhardt: 1979” Intellectual goodies for fans to enjoy include Dale Sr.'s build-up to his rookie debut with Osterland Racing. It follows Earnhardt's rise from a local semi-modified truck winner to one of Charlotte's top Late Model contenders.

The research behind this podcast included the discovery of old newspaper clippings that Junior's grandmother Martha had saved. Another resource was a scrapbook owned by Dale, her senior sister, which focused on the 1979 season.
