LAS VEGAS — Tony Pollard stands behind the quarterback.
The Dallas Cowboys running back was on media row at Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas. When asked who the quarterback in the league receives the most unfair hate, he mentioned Dak Prescott.
But Pollard said that comes with the territory.
“He has a star on his helmet,” he told USA TODAY Sports. “Playing for the Dallas Cowboys means everything, good and bad, is doubled. When you're going strong and winning, everyone's patting you on the back and cheering you on. And if you're depressed, they'll corner you and tell you that you're worse off than you actually are. ”
The Cowboys had a season with ups and downs, including double-digit wins, but struggled on the road. They won the NFC East by defeating their rival Philadelphia Eagles, but were upset by the Green Bay Packers in the first game of the playoffs.

Prescott ranked third in the league with 4,516 passing yards and led all QBs with 36 touchdowns. In a playoff matchup against Jordan Love, he threw two interceptions that determined the course of the game. He is 2-5 in the postseason but has yet to lead the Cowboys past the divisional round.
Pollard offered some thoughts on how to overcome the extra pressure.
“You have to be able to block it out and be neutral,” he said.
