2024 NFL Offseason, Free Agency Details
The NFL's 2024 calendar year begins March 13 at 4:00 PM ET. At that point, his contract through 2023 officially ends and these players become free agents. Prior to the start of free agency, teams will have the opportunity to name one franchise or transition tag player from February 20th at 4pm ET until March 5th. Teams can enter legal negotiations from March 11th to March 13th. The affected players will become unrestricted free agents.
In addition to NFL free agency, the new year also marks the beginning of all trades officially made by the league office. April 19th is the deadline for restricted free agents to receive offer sheets. The April 24 deadline for teams to play restricted free agents provides a seat hit. Following the restricted free agency deadline, the 2024 NFL Draft will be held from April 25-27.
