On today's episode of “Land Grant Uncut,” we bring you the unedited audio of the National Signature Diary press conference held on Wednesday, February 7th at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. There, Ohio State football coach Ryan Day answered questions from the assembled media. The Buckeyes have had an incredible six weeks since his embarrassing loss to the Missouri Tigers in the Cotton Bowl.
One of the main topics of conversation was the status of new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien. After arriving in Columbus just a few weeks ago, O'Brien is reportedly one of two finalists for Boston College's vacant head coaching position. This coincidentally became available to former OSU defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley when he left BC to become defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers.
Day talked about OC contingency and how he knows when it's finally time to give up play-calling, even if he doesn't want to. The head coach also talks about early enrollees and NFL-level players who choose to return.
