Rempe's return.
Matt Lempe returned to action Thursday against the Bruins after serving a four-game suspension.
Lempe quickly becomes a fan favorite, receiving cheers every time he touches the puck, takes a big hit, or starts a game. He became a key piece to the Rangers' success.
We bring you a new episode of our podcast, Up In The Seats, to talk about Lempe, injuries to several Rangers defensemen, and other things going on with the Blueshirts.
Brian Boyle and Molly Walker are joined by guest co-host Mike Rupp, a former Ranger and NHL Network analyst.
Up in the Blue Sheets Podcast with Brian Boyle, Molly Walker, and Mike Rupp:
- Boiling between benches: Boyle talks about his first experience reporting between the benches during the Rangers' loss to the Jets on Tuesday at MSG.
- East standings: Teams will be replaced. The east side is tough. The Rangers are only two points behind the Hurricanes. Are you concerned about Rangers losing to a top team?
- Lindgren/Truba Injury: How will it affect the Rangers without their two best defensemen? Lindgren will be sidelined for several weeks. Chad Ruhwedel will likely be a big factor going forward. He can play in this league. He is low maintenance.
- Matt Rempe return: He should be back from suspension tonight. He has reacted to his suspension and the impact it will have on his return to Rangers. Peter Laviolette has tools that others don't. There is no other player on the team who can cheer everyone up like Rempe. I'd like to see him in the lineup for every playoff game.
- Boiling point: Boyle reacts to John Tortorella sitting on Sean Couturier.
