The Dallas Stars are back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In a rematch scheduled for the first round, the Stars will face the Vegas Golden Knights, the defending Stanley Cup champions who eliminated Dallas from the playoffs last season.

Second period
1:06 into second period: The Stars then allowed another goal early in the second period. Brayden McNabb beat Jake Oettinger to extend Las Vegas' lead to two goals again. So… it's 4-2 Golden Knights.
First term
18:29: Jason Robertson scored his second goal of the game to keep the Stars in the lead. Rookie Logan Stankoven stole the puck near the middle of the ice and fed Robertson, who promptly sent the puck into the back of the net with a wrist shot. This ended an action-packed first period with Las Vegas holding his slim 3-2 lead.
17:51: Tomas Hertl scored three seconds into the power play after an extra period in Dallas, pushing Vegas' cushion back to two goals. 3-1 Golden Knights. Mason Marchment was whistled for a hook penalty.
16:07: Stars captain Jamie Beane leads the home team to victory with a nifty backhand goal. The Stars took a 2-1 lead into the game.
8:27: Dallas runs into trouble early on.
Midway through the first period, Las Vegas struck again to extend the lead to 2-0. Jonathan Marchessault completed five holes against Jake Oettinger.
7:06: Right after Las Vegas took the lead, Dallas briefly looked like they might tie the game, but that wasn't the case.
Ryan Suter's goal was challenged and overturned, sending the Stars back to zero on the scoreboard. Mason Marchment was ruled offside. The score remains 1-0.
1:23 of first period: Well, it didn't take long.
After Sam Steele was penalized for high sticking, the Golden Knights very He took an early lead with his first power play goal of the series. Mark Stone, who is doubtful to play in Game 1 of the series, was brought in for Las Vegas.
