Employee of the Month: December's honor goes to CeeDee Lamb. The All-Pro wideout was instrumental in a blowout win over the Eagles earlier this month, with a 118-yard run against the Dolphins that was a close loss, but a 227-yard outburst against the Lions that was a huge blowout for the Cowboys. One of the biggest reasons why the 'Z was able to win. In total, Lamb recorded 469 receiving yards and his four total touchdowns (get it? Lamb? Luck?), and his average yards per reception was 14 more than his. oh.
when they looked like candidates: After ending November with a barnburner win against one of the NFL's best secondaries and defeating the Eagles, who were 10-2 at the time, the Cowboys look poised to make a deep run in the playoffs. Ta. They showed no mercy against Philadelphia and ultimately helped put them in trouble for the rest of the season. For me, this was the win that started the butterfly effect that led to the Cowboys winning the NFC East and being No. 1. . 2 types.
When you reach for the panic button: Well, to be honest, it was the next game after that domination against the Eagles that I mentioned earlier. It took just one week for the Cowboys to go from looking like championship favorites to playing normally, but they lost badly against the Bills in Buffalo. James Cook had a record-setting day, but Josh Allen exploded and only completed seven (!!) passes in total. It was their worst game since the humiliation against the 49ers in Week 5. No doubt the optics made it worse.
Things to remember: The declaration of eligibility is not as complicated as the Lions declared on Dec. 30. It was one of the few close wins of the season, and the Lions were in a position to potentially take a one-point lead with just a few minutes left on the clock if they could convert a two-point conversion. However, their futile attempts to confuse the Cowboys, who had declared themselves eligible, only rather confused the officials, and the rest was history in the headlines. The Cowboys ended their losing streak at two against the NFC's top contenders, but what will always be remembered about this battle was the foul play on a two-point conversion attempt with the game on the line ( An explanatory video was also released after the fact, thanks to NFL Detroit).
things to forget: What happened in Buffalo. It wasn't the weather that defeated the Cowboys on a December evening in upstate New York. Rather, it was the fact that the Bills scored 18 of the first 21 points, extended by a timely penalty. From there, the Cowboys couldn't stop James Cook from looking like a mix of Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, and Barry Sanders, and the Bills were basically on their way to 221 yards from scrimmage. He spammed Cook the entire game, scoring two touchdowns. If I had to describe this game in one word, it would be “dangerous.”
