Of the three Cowboys players who signed elsewhere after the first day of free agency, who suffered the biggest loss: Tony Pollard, Tyler Biadasz, and Dorrance Armstrong? – Jared Stovall / Moore, Oklahoma
Nick Eatman: I don't know if the Cowboys really intended to bring any of the three back in 2024. I would say the answer is Pollard, because there are no running backs at this point. Then again, the first game isn't until September either. The Cowboys also lost their starting center and starting pass rusher to the Commanders. However, both Armstrong and Biadasz were always expected to leave. Pollard was somewhat of an enigma. So while I would say he's the biggest loss at this point, let's see what the Cowboys can do to replace him, whether it's free agency, the draft, or perhaps both.
cart: It's tough for fans to watch players leave while the Cowboys sit and wait, but that's how this team usually operates. No surprises there. To be honest, all of them are solid, reliable players, but I don't think losing any of these three will seal the Cowboys' fate. Or at least it's better not to be. But I think the biggest hole in this group that needs to be filled right now is in the middle. As I mentioned here, I have to admit that I've fallen into the philosophy of not spending a lot on a running back when a cheaper option can produce them. Armstrong's seven and a half sacks required replacement, but he was still part of an edge rushing rotation that included Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence and Sam Williams. But now there's a real question mark at the heart of it.Pro Football Focus ranks Biadas 14thth He held the position last year and has a trip to the Pro Bowl on his resume. So who will take his place? Brock Hoffman, who showed flashes in limited action last year? Low-cost free agents? An immediate draft pick? What the Cowboys do here will be one of the most important decisions of the offseason.
