Jeyarajah: “Another factor that I keep watching really closely is dual transfers between quarterbacks. Players who start at one school and transfer during the postseason period don't get a job, or they don't get a job after camp. Would you try to transfer again if you didn't feel like you could get him?
“I think there will be players who will try to do that. You know, there are examples of players who have moved on, and who may understand that they may not be immediately effective. One battle that hasn't been is one from New Mexico State, which has two really talented players in Diego Pavia and Nate Johnson. [Pavia] One from Utah [Johnson] Enter the portal and get there. Is one of them feeling like, “Oh, I thought I could easily handle this job, but maybe I won't be able to do it the same way.''
“And the other factor I'm looking at is, obviously, we haven't seen too many quarterback battles decided in the spring at this point. One great example of this that we've already seen is former Oklahoma transfer Nick Evers, who just entered the transfer portal, and Miami transfer Tyler Van Dyke in 2024. It appears that he will be the quarterback for the season.
“Ohio State, this is another room that fascinates me. Will Eyre Noland, Julian Sane, Lincoln Keinholtz, Devin Brown, Will Howard and others stick around until the fall of 2024? … Same If you have two quarterbacks in your recruiting class, Air Noland and Julian Sane, and they overlap, and you're Lincoln Keinholtz, who just got taken multiple times this cycle, you: Have you decided to move on?”
needle: “The person I’m circling is Reese Poffenberger.” [Miami]. Talented guy, they recruited him and brought him in from Albany, good FCS quarterback. And by all accounts, yesterday, or should I say a few days ago, Cam Ward was exactly as advertised. So if you're that guy, you think, “I want to be somewhere where I'm valued, so I can be a starter and prove myself.'' So I wouldn't be shocked to see him as an example of someone who might be leaving. ”
“But sometimes it pays to be patient. Miller Moss is a great example of that. He stuck around. He was obviously a very good quarterback.・I was Riley's first new employee, and now I'm able to shine there. So maybe some of the people you thought would quit will stick it out to the end. . It's hard to predict. I mean, that's the nature of being young and part of the fun of this sport.”
