One of America's fastest-growing restaurant chains plans to move its headquarters from the suburbs to its Dallas headquarters.
Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. (NASDAQ: WING) has signed a lease to move its headquarters to One West Village in Uptown Dallas, the company confirmed on March 28.
A Wingstop spokesperson said the company will acquire 112,000 square feet across floors 15 to 18 under a 13-year lease.
The company currently has offices along Wright Brothers Drive in Addison. This comes as many other companies seek offices uptown for new spaces with walkable amenities.
Olive Mill Holdings, the new real estate investment firm from co-founders Ryan McManigal, Chris Cerbo and Peter Yates, will open in late 2021 at 2801 N. Central Highway, formerly the home of Richards Group. We acquired a 240,000 square foot building. The Richards Group sold the building after losing its account following controversial comments by founder Stan Richards, then rebranded as TRG and moved to Deep Ellum.
Donnie Upshaw, Wingstop's senior vice president of corporate restaurants and chief human resources officer, said the company's goal is to be one of the top 10 restaurant brands in the world, and its employees are its competitive advantage. He said he believes it is an advantage.
“The Dallas area has been our home for nearly 30 years, and we're excited to open our new headquarters in uptown Dallas. This will prepare us for the next phase of growth for our brand.” said Upshaw.
Wingstop representatives did not immediately say how many employees would work at the new headquarters location. At the end of 2020, Wingstop's headquarters was expected to have approximately 150 to 175 employees.
Wingstop moved to its current Addison headquarters in 2020 after purchasing the 78,000 square foot building at 15505 Wright Brothers Dr. in June 2019 for $18.3 million. The company's office was previously located next door to the Galleria.
Wingstop is the sixth fastest-growing retail chain in 2022, with an increase of 187 stores from the previous year, according to a report from industry publication QSR.
