MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — After six successful seasons as Drake's head coach, Darian DeVries knew he would only leave Des Moines for a “very special” opportunity.
WVU men's basketball offers that opportunity.
DeVries was formally introduced as the 23rd head coach of Mountaineer men's basketball on Thursday at the WVU Coliseum, along with Director of Athletics Len Baker and play-by-play announcer Tony Caridi.
During the press conference, DeVries reflected on his coaching career, shared insight into his coaching philosophy, explained his approach to the transfer portal and explained why he believes West Virginia is the right fit for him.
